In fact, the classic Bugatti is now considered to be the world’s most expensive car. The coupe had been owned by a former president of the American Bugatti Club, who passed away two years ago.

Several classic cars fetch considerable higher prices through discreet, private transactions than they do at auction. Recently, a Ferrari GTO sports car sold for $28 million privately and for $20 millions by RM Auctions.

Antiquorum Geneva is famous for selling premium auction items. Their latest auction in hometown Geneva set a new auction world record. The unique Patek Philippe enamel dome clock, “Le Tour du Monde de Magellan” with Ref 797 E, was sold to an Asian collector for $163,925 after intense bidding over the phone.
The price was converted from Swiss Francs (CHF) to Dollar (USD) when this article was written. Antiquorum has been specialized in watches and horology since 1974.

Rare, 200 years old dildos on auction
Auction houses seems to sell all kind of items those days. Reputable Essex based Brentwood Antiques Auction managed to sell two used dildos, about 200 years old, for £3785 last week.
The winner of the antique dildos wished to remain anonymous.
Auctioneer Wendy Wood, representing Brentwood Antiques Auction, claims it’s a good long term investment, since there are not many old sex toys on the market. Holding it for 5-10 years could yield a return of over 10 % a year.

Love letters can be fairly expensive. At least if they have been written by a former wife of a famous Frenchman.
Josephine de Beauharnais, which later become Napoleons wife, wrote 50 handwritten letters to her future husband before marrying him in 1796. The letter from this passionate love affair have now sold on auction for £500 000.
